If you were to ask us what makes Wanderniki stand out: the hiking or the cuisine? We would say both! Because the homemade venison salami is just as much a part of your holiday as the flugelhorn on the mountain pasture. This is our region. The region we love, nurture, and cherish.
A day at the panorama restaurant
As you enter the restaurant in the morning, the beguiling aroma of freshly ground coffee and homemade bread fresh from the oven embraces you. In combination with the cool mountain air on the terrace, you couldn’t feel any more refreshed. And no need to rush: There’s plenty of room for all our guests to find their spot in the sun on the spacious terrace.
When you return from an active outing, our barista will be waiting for you in the afternoon with coffee specialities and a large selection of homemade tarts and cakes. It’s a welcome break before you continue exploring Lesachtal.
Dinner starts with an aperitif in the panorama lounge and finishes with a fine glass of wine in our wine nook. Nikolaus Jr. is sure to have a nice bottle in store for you. But try not to stay here too long because the cosy get-together in the lounge and bar area with live music is the perfect conclusion to an eventful day.
Slow Food breakfast in the mountains
The day at Wanderniki starts with delicacies from the world’s first Slow Food Travel region. Approximately 80% of what you can find in the large buffet area comes from our region – and 60% of it comes from us directly.
Dinner with a view
After a beautiful day in the Alps, Chef Elvira and her kitchen team will spoil you with a 4-course menu featuring local specialities and vegetarian options prepared with natural ingredients. The large salad buffet alone, with vegetables from our garden, will make your mouth water. We are always delighted when guests come to us and tell us how easy the food is to process. If you treat food with care and get it from natural sources, you can forget about stomach aches or feeling unpleasantly full. Our food does what it is supposed to do: nourish us and make us happy.
Homemade with love
We have been producing Lesachtal Speck (cured smoked ham) ourselves on the farm for many years. Gently smoked over beechwood from our own forest, it then matures in the cool, fresh mountain air. The homemade Schlipfkrapfen (stuffed pasta) is always a highlight, and not to forget the Lesachtal bread with grain from Lesachtal, which was awarded the “Slow Food Presidio” seal. At our bread baking workshops, you will learn all about the production process – from the Luggau mills to the finished loaf. Of course, it tastes best with our homemade jams made from elderberries from the garden and huckleberries from the meadows.
